It will avoid compression so that your file is simply "cut" in two separate files. Thus, since there is no compression, the process is extremely fast. Also, the file will not lose any quality whatsoever, since you are simply cutting it. However, there is a drawback that I can think for people who mix cut files together. Every single file will have a different audio codec and bitrate. With applications that compress the files that are to be split, there is a common compression and bitrate. Thus, your files will all sound the same when mixed again. However, this is not a drawback for the user who only wants to make a file smaller or cut it into two parts. |
